One of my greatest frustrations being an Internet entrepreneur and working from the comfort of my home, is the isolation.

I read a study recently that the majority of relationships, marriages and friendships formed in our adult life come from our work environment.

If you work in an office than its easy to meet and socialize with other (sometimes) like minded people. You're "locked" in a building and forced to do that 5 days a week!

However us Internet entrepreneurs don't have that luxury. In fact if we tried to talk to our friends about what we do, what we are passionate about and what motivates us they would think we were crazy and talking a different language!!

I reached my boiling point last spring and reached out to everybody I knew where I live (Dallas, Texas). And in May 2006 a group of 12 of us got together for lunch.

Then the next month we doubled in size to more than 20 and got together at my house.

And it grew from there!

Now each month 40 to 50 people come to this monthly Internet Entrepreneur Get Together and we have a blast.

Being the host who starts one in your area (there can only be one) has some significant benefits. You are viewed as the "leader", you easily get to know everybody in your group, you are tuned into everybody in the group and the best opportunities will likely find you and more.

I believe I've received more benefit from the one here in Dallas than any of the other members because I'm the one hosting it each month. And you could see the same benefit too in your area.
