  1. Wow, Kevin, thank you for sharing this!

It really hit me when you were talking about Titanic and Avatar. I never saw Titanic because I don't like "sad" stories, and I know what happened to the Titanic! But I did see Avatar, and I didn't like it. I couldn't figure out why everyone around me talked about how wonderful it was, how it was the best movie they ever saw, etc., etc., yet it left me feeling horrible. Now it makes sense. Thank you for sharing your insights.

Also, you shared a very powerful concept in an off-hand way. You said "whatever success means to them." It would do us all a great service to remember that what success means to you is not necessarily the same thing that success means to me. It was a strong reminder that finding out what success means to our clients is foundational.

Finally, the answer you gave about accepting 80% from someone else to free yourself up was amazing. That's a major, major challenge for most of us, I think.

As always, you delivered an awesome message. Thank you so much.

  2. Kevin, you ROCK! thanks for your great talk and for sharing this video with your 'tribe'.

And thank you for your inspiration for starting The Internet Marketing Party… it was after going to yours that I decided to start my party (monthly event) that Michael Lovitch & I have been hosting without a miss for 2 years now! In fact, we now have folks flying in from all around the country (as far as Oregon, New York, California, & Colorado… and even out of the country… Vancouver).

Your talk was one of the turning points for our party and ever since then, we have had at least 150 people show up to network, do JV deals, and learn from while rubbing elbows with tons of internet marketing wizards that live in and around Austin… and in September, we'll probably have at least 250 people attend. http://bit.ly/jeffsmithparty

Thanks for our inspirational talk. It is definitely one of the most eye-opening and frank talks anyone has done to date. I still have folks telling me how much they enjoyed it. And it is The Most Viewed video of all the ones I've published. GREAT JOB!!! And Thank You!!!

If anyone wants to register for our meetup, they can do so here:
    http://bit.ly/imparty

    Again, thanks, Kevin!

  3. Great video! Kevin is humble in the face of all he's accomplished and all he's trying to accomplish. Was great to hear the story of how it all grew and where he wants to take it next.

  4. Most excellent. Very genuine. I enjoyed this talk. Keep up the good work.

I have to get to one of Kevin's seminars in person…

  5. Good job Kevin! All the best! I would love to attend the Austin Internet Marketing Party when I visit your area.

  6. Kevin, that was terrific! Your story is inspiring me!

(BTW, I thought it was rude for the host to be discussing the following month's great speaker during your time.)

    Thanks, Kevin!

  7. Great stuff Kevin! You've got to get your mind right before you can have success at anything. Eliminating the negative influences is a must, but you are right when you say that you must fill that void in your life with something else positive. If you just eliminate things without filling the space left behind, your subconscious will fill it back up with the same things that you were trying to get rid of.

    Keep up the good work,
    Greg

    Hi Kevin,
    Thanks for the Motivation!!

  9. Paul Merriwether

Thanks Kevin. Moving on in terms of friends & family is something I've done to keep a clear head. Taking action on successful people's suggestions and "reporting" one's results is something I will implement from now on. (I'll be far less skeptical)

    Thanks very much!

    Paul

  10. Kevin,

I had to laugh at your comments about the news and September 11th. That is the exact thing I have always said – if anything major that I REALLY need to know is happening, my phone will ring. Sure enough, my phone started ringing the morning of 9-11 and I didn't miss a thing.

And, my husband is a pilot who was flying that morning.

Keep out the negative! Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for sharing your story with us. Very inspiring. I'm relatively new to online marketing after having to fold a business that took 8 years of my life and left my husband and I 6 figures in debt. I had to make a radical mindset shift to go onwards and upwards rather than stay in pain and despair. I joined your LBMM program in June 10 and already have my first two clients and am rapidly building my business, using the LBMM Done For You Services which have been invaluable as I didn't have the confidence to do the work to the level that would impact my clients. When I had my last business I had to do everything myself or be constantly frustrated that whoever I employed would never do the job at the level I wanted to. So it's wonderful now to run my new business differently where I go and meet people and build relationships with them (which I love to do) and outsource all the actual services (which aren't my strong point).

Thanks so much Kevin for providing such great training and services where I can turn our lives around while helping others.

I appreciate what you are saying in this video Kevin.

And I understand your intention of having a filter when you are watching movies such as Titanic and Avatar.

And I understand the whole notion of blessing the rich rather than envying them if you want to be rich yourself.

Now, from my perspective the movie Avatar wasn't about depicting rich people as "bad" and poor people as "good."

The Navi (the natives on the planet Pandora) weren't even "poor."

There was so much abundance in their environments that they had no need for money or ownership.

Nobody owns the air because it is abundance (in our world).

If all of us human beings had everything we needed in absolute abundance, there would be no need for ownership and no need for money.

The Navi had that kind of a world where there was no need for ownership or money. (Similarly in the Bible story about Adam and Eve before they were expelled from the Garden, they had everything they needed right there in the garden of Eden. It would've been absurd for them to have money. And it wouldn't make sense to call them "poor.")

Calling the Navi from Avatar "poor" comes from a monetary perspective.

But if you define wealth as access to resources rather than money, the Navi were MASSIVELY wealthy.

Money was actually invented at a time of scarcity for human beings.

It was invented at a time that production was based on mainly human labor and some animal labor.

But as we accessed other energy sources (fossil fuels, etc.) and we started to automate production, less and less human labor was necessary to produce the same goods and services.

One of the things that we've been experiencing in our current economy is an increase in productivity with a simultaneous increase in unemployment.

So we are in fact producing more goods and services and fewer and fewer people are having access to those resources.

This is because of the "movement" towards automation.

The more efficient and automated we are in production, the fewer people that are necessary for production.

Our current monetary economic system is based on the need for human labor.

So in a monetary system people have the "right" to fear technology and automation replacing their job.

But there is another possibility for an economic system that we can transition to where technology would mean the emancipation of human beings.

It is possible for us to organize society technology, and resources in such a way that every human being would have access to the resources that they need in order to survive and thrive (food, shelter, clothing, health care, relevant education, recreation, etc.) WITHOUT money or ownership.

In other words, it's possible for us to create a world of abundance for ALL human beings to the point that ownership and money become obsolete.

But the existence and perpetuation of the monetary system is actually a barrier to all human beings getting access to the resources that they need.

A monetary system actually incentivizes the creation of scarcity.

I know that what I'm writing here is "outside the box" thinking for most people.

And from "inside the box" what I'm saying may seem crazy and absurd.

But if you start to get present to the constraints of "the box" of our monetary system, you will see that the consequences of it are detrimental.

The movie Avatar to me is a great example of how the profit incentive is often placed above our incentive to protect the environment and people.

Now, I'm not saying that it's "bad" to be rich or to pursue being rich.

    I'm doing that myself.

What I'm trying to point to is the monetary system itself. We are all in this system together. And there are constraints and consequences of it.

Do a Google search on the phrase: the zeitgeist movement orientation presentation
and you can see a video that fully distinguishes the consequences of our current monetary system and what would be possible we transitioned to what they call a resource-based economy.

Also do a Google search on the phrase: the Venus Project what it means to be human
and then click on the first search result.
This is a blog post on what it would mean to be human in a resource-based economy as distinct from who we are in a monetary system.
